Workshop Note

This young man was eager to see what was going on. He is preparing 'puri', a deep fried bread made from unleavened whole-wheat flour. It is usually served with some kind of vegetarian sauce and is very tasty.

All these men were wearing a 'dhoti', a long cotton cloth wrapped around the waist and legs. It was traditionally worn by most Indian men instead of trousers. I have a feeling they are rather out of fashion now, after hundreds of years, at least in the major cities.
