Workshop Note

It was a long wait for this symbolic ship ! It was supposed to arrive in Brest on 12th July, ready to start the Big Maritime Celebration on the 13th.
We waited and we waited... and all we could see was this far away silhouette on the horizon.
We learned later that plans had been changed because Segolene Royal, then the Minister of Ecology was coming to Brest on the 13th to launch the celebrations.
Therefore “L'Hermione” would arrive that day in great pomp, welcome the Minister who would then board the ship for the official launching.
That's why the ship had been waiting for the go-ahead, well offshore, on the Ocean.
As for us, we had a second day on the Spanish Point to watch the actual arrival :-)
