I visited for the fort.
But was amazed to find the old Borgo almost on the beach. Many of the towers intact, although well built around. Information on them was not to be found.
If anyone reads this I would be most welcome on any.
This is one of the old towers from the inside. If it was originally a gateway .. I don't know?
How it all escaped the fighting in World War ll I just don't know again.

I sharpened the photo, then used a gradient in Photoshop to darken the top part of the photo, then I lightened up the middle levels of the whole photo.
