Tamil Nadu - Madurai - A glimpse of an interior of the Meenakshi Temple

More colours of Madurai.

I explained already that it’s no longer allowed (and also not possible) to take a camera or a smartphone inside the Meenakshi Temple.
Hereby the only picture that I could take of an interior of the huge temple.

I could take this photo from the street just by looking over the fence.
On the eastern side of the temple there’s a spot where you can have a look from the street into one of the interior spaces of the temple.
In religious terms, this is definitely not one of the main areas of Meenakshi. But it's the only interior that I can show you and yet one of the most colourful.

On a photo in the WS you can see how close this interior (actually one of the entrances) is to the street.

Another picture shows one of the gopurams. I couldn't get enough of them. I realize that I am repeating myself. That's why I show the tower in the WS.
