Photographer's Note
The very word "Orchha" means "hidden" and, verily, this small town stands for it. It is a hidden archaeological legacy of medieval India, it is a hidden 'throb' of romance and emotional rupture, it is a hidden face of history, a hidden treasure of spiritual tranquility, a hidden poetry written on stones! Hidden .. because very few tourists traveling to India are troubled to visit such small places as Orchha. Those, having a feeling of being endowed with inner aesthetic sense, have to visit Orchha and experience its melodious lull and transcendence.
Orchha is believed to be founded in the 16th century by a Bundela Rajput chief named Rudra Pratap.
With the solemn row of pale brown weed-choked domes and spires, the riverside Chhattris or cenotaphs are Orchha's most melancholy ruins. These are temples constructed as memorials to illustrious Bundela kings. The banks of the Betwa river are dotted with 14 of these cenotaphs.
Indeed the Chhattris are best viewed from this bridge or from the boulders on the opposite bank, where one can see their remarkable silhouettes against the setting sun & their reflections on the still waters of the Betwa. An image that will surely stay in our memories for a long time.
Act III - Evening
Scene II - As the drama of sunset unfolded, every moment was different, every minute was different, every day was different...that's the beauty of Orchha.
Compare this scene with this picture taken the previous day in the same place...you'll understand what I mean.

A fine and original POV where the remarkable architecture has become a decorative ornament in the background. Beautiful reflections of towers and clouds.

Hello Angshuman,
what a stunning view, simply beautiful. The stones in the fg along the reflections of the city on the water have created a beautiful painting where the sky reflected is the classic icing on the cake. There's a bit of overexposure in the left side but that doesn't bother. Congratulations and regards,

Hello a very well worn out photo with an effective and interesting point of view, I like Angshuman as it predominates in the image over the stones on the structure of the buildings of the fund, the reflexes are a marvel and the result of the composition is excellent.
Congratulations friend.
Un saludo y feliz fin de semana.

Hi Angshuman,
Beautiful picture! The sharpness is incredible and the light great. I like how you composed it with those rocks in the foreground that give depth and the wonderful reflections of the sky and the city as well. The sunset in the upper left corner is slightly burned but these are not easy light conditions. By the way, is it me or is the horizon slightly tilted? All in all, a successful picture of a beautiful scenery. Well done!
Yours,
Philippe

Excellent and beautifull reflection of the sky and towers in the river. At first sight an atmosphere a bit sad with all the grey, but they are also touches of colors with a more careful examination.

Hello Angshuman,
Really this evening scene is so magical with the Orchha in the background. The subdued light, with the sun still painting pastoral colors in the clouds makes this a great shot. The reflections on the water on the foreground,in combination with the stones, make the capture more interesting and with a great depth.Indeed every minute in the evening is different from the next one.Informative your note too.

Bonjour, mon ami Angshu,
Encore une très belle vue, une image parfaitement composée. Il faut dire que le sujet se prête volontiers à la composition.
Encore faut-il avoir l'habileté pour présenter ce lieu magique d'une aussi belle façon.
Amitiés.

ahh, this magic place once again, Angshu. What a diference compared with your other post. I might like this one more, although problably members will apreciate more the dark/gold tones of the other...I guess that the composition pleases me more here - more stones, a nicer sky reflected on the water and more architecture to enjoy with five triangular roof tops side by side, instead of just one. Anyway, it's great to compare the two diferent moods.

Hi Angshu,
Ahhhh, a great composition, what a view, what a great view you found here..!!!
Those rocks in the foreground are so good, but also the impressive buildings which you have placed excellent inside the framing....great..!!!
Light in the sky is tricky on the left, you could work further on that, bringing more detail, maybe some orange or a slight red toning in there to make it look more natural. Anyway, the view is what countas and that is really great.

Your low POV works very well to bring some prominence to the stones and so add depth to the scene. The reflections are wonderful and as clear as the buildings in reality. I love the limited colour palette and if asked to choose between this and the earlier one I would struggle. Excellent shot.

Hi Angshuman,
WOW! Impressive capture in an excellent composition of the elements, and with a great aesthetic game of the light and of the reflections of the architecture and the sky on the water, where the stones also have a nice decorative role.
I like this luminosity that you have obtained, and the graphism of the whole set. Your complementary photo is very nice also, with another light and other tones.
Beautiful picture, my friend.

Hi Angshuman,
The reflections of the temples and of the sky in the water are assets to the composition. The point of view from the rock going up to the temples is a good addition to the composition. The photo is clear and precise. The subject is well frame. Have a nice day.

The silver touch makes it really unusual (for Orchha) and really striking : like a newsmagazine image. It's perfectly composed with the diagonal and the pure reflection. One of your best compo.

out of the two photos from this place I think I prefer this one, especially the cool colours and how the stones in the foreground lead the eye towards the buildings and seem to transform in the way from mere lumps of rock into intricate architecture. the mirror perfect reflection adds to the dream-like mood of the scene, this is a great photo.

Hello Angshuman,
Coming back to this fantastic composition as, and IMO, one of your best shots.
Everything is in its place, the foreground with those rocks, the oustanding background with those beautiful constructions, the relections on water, the sidelight, everything conveys to a perfect atmosphere.
Now, there are two points you could have worked a bit more, the sky on the left side which is a bit burned, and on the trees of the right side you seem to have some chromatic aberration there, also a bit on the rocks.
Nevertheless, this is a beautiful and soolid piece of work my friend!
Cheers.
