Photographer's Note

A particular view of Trieste. This shot was taken from a railroad that is only rarely used, mainly for freight trains.

Here we are, facing south-west, on a bridge near the new University (centre-right, near the wide road). It is easy to see how Trieste is built on hilly terrain. The big wood on the left is the Ferdinandeo wood, while below you can see the city "streaming" to the centre. Near the sea, you can see the yellow cranes of the docks, and, across the first bay, the town of Muggia. The further bays and shores are already in Slovenia.

Technical: rotated, aut-levels, resized&sharpened.
