Photographer's Note

Here is the TE BETA version, please take a moment and click on it as its much clearer and sharper.

One of the most popular, most famous and most powerful waterfalls in Iceland is Dettifoss. Its a sure hit when travelling to this fine country. For those TE members who have been to Iceland and been to Dettifos, you know what i'm talking about when I say you can HEAR the power, the force of the water, the rapid pace and speed of the water - its incredible. Photos will never do it justice.

Having my drone, it was one of my highlights during my time here. I've never seen drone photos from this site before. It was so much fun flying the drone all the way up the river and directly over the powerful waterfall.

I was as curious as anybody to see how this waterfall looked from the air, now i know :)

Assuming Dettifoss would be full of people, I arrived here super early. I was only the 3rd or 4th person here at this time of day. By the time I left, there were hundreds. Its always best to fly your drone with less people around.

In the WS is a more close up photo as well, which i prefer personally. However, in this main post I thought its an overall better photo to show the landscape far into the bg and the way the water flows from a distance.

If you look closely, you'll see a 2nd waterfall about 3/4 of the way up the frame. Thats Selfoss. Its about 1.2 KM away, an easy hike from Dettifoss. I flew the drone over that one as well which i'll show next.

You can also see a viewing platform for tourists on the right side of the frame.
