Photographer's Note

When riding my bike from the North-East Ukraine to the North Caucasus along the motorway P-269 (Rostov-on-Don – Stavropol) I could see the first signs of approaching to the Caucasus Mountains near this settlement, Moskovskoe Village (5385 inhabitants in 2002), which was situated in the distance of 23 kilometers to the North of Stavropol. There the Stavropol Upland spreads as foothills of the mountains. Its highest point is Strizhament Mount (831 m above sea level).

Very happy with your come-back in TE with this beautiful shot. The POV well selcetd give a superb propsect to ... Moscow and a great depht to the image. The church arise very well in the BG.

I like the way you have composed the long road into the picture here, with the white lines well anchored to the corners of the photo! The beautiful church where the road leads us, is well placed at the third of the picture. A beautiful landscape and an interesting note (and map view!)

Hi Serghei, Isn't it dangerous to ride the bakie on the highway and to make photos? You shoudn't do it!
great depth, i like such a view of a road. I usually sit near the driver and try to make photos but then there are ugly reflections. Great view of the church. Funny title, Moscow village :))

So you are back from your new, long biking trip!
What interesting, healthy holidays you take! Cycling is so great: Not too slow like walking, and not too fast like a car. So it allows you to cover fair distances and see quite a lot of sites at the same time! Do you travel on your own?
What I thought when I first saw your picture, is that it looked like an introduction to the long way you cycled and to the stories you are going to tell us through your next photos!
It's a wonderful POV with this long road leading us to the beautiful Orthodox church, which seems to be at the entrance of a town, and then to the hills far beyond!
Looking forward to seeing more photos of your trip!

very nice composition: the road makes an attractive intro into the village and in particular into the splendid church in the center. Funny effect with the horizon line so straight and yet so high abouve the village.

This is a very lovely shot. I like how you use the road to lead our vision toward the church of the village.

The surrounding is really charming, with green hills and forest. Love all the different shade of green. Good DoF, good clarity and the color faded as we goes further into the distance.
