Photographer's Note

This Russian Orthodox church is seen from any point of big Cossack settlement of Yurovka. The village is situated at the delta of the Kuban River, where the plain of Taman Peninsula turns into foothills of Caucasus Mountains. There, as everywhere in Russia, many new churches have been built recently. Each big village, which is called stanitsa there or selo in the rest of Russia, has at least one church now, as it was before the revolution of 1917. A smaller village (hamlet, khutor or derevnya in Russian) did not have a church typically, but now it often does.

This shot of Russian newly build church has much in common with another my shot of a new church in Ukraine.
