This was the first marriage anniversary of mine which I celebrated at my in-laws place at Nizamabad. As part of this trip, I toured around a lot of beautiful places around Nizamabad which I had never been to in my first year of marriage.

I had toured around a few nice places around:

1) Dichpally Temple : Rama Temple at Dichpalli/ Dichpally town very near to Nizamabad. This is a 12th or 13th Century Temple!!!!!!! Very Ancient and nice! It is also referred to as Dichpally Quilla (fort) Temple.

This Ramalayam is located about 15kms from Nizamabad towards Hyderabad. The temple was built of with white & Black basalt stone by Kakatiya Rulers. The Temple has exquisite carvings on temple walls, ceilings and door frames. It exhibits excellent craftmanship, which attracts large number of visitors.

2) Jankampet Temple: Sri Lakshmi Narasimha temple on a hillock at Jankampet
The temple constructed during the 18th Century by Samarth Ramdas, guru of the Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji, was almost in ruins when the devotees of Laxmi Narasimha decided to take up renovation works.

The devotees used to visit Dharmapuri in Karimnagar district where the famous Laxmi Narasimha temple is located on the banks of Godavari. The historic temple has the unique distinction of having the `Ashthamukhi koneru', the only one of its kind in entire south India.

3) ALI SAGAR: Alisagar Reservoir is situated at a distance of 13Km from Nizamabad city which is another important picnic spot, close to Nizamabad urban. A beautiful garden raised here attract picnickers from Nizamabad city.

4) ASHOK SAGAR: Very near, picaresque water body, near Nizamabad.
