We had a week at the end of May, walking on two of the islands in the Cyclades, Tinos and Andros. We flew to Athens and then transferred to the port of Rafina for the ferry to Tinos, where we stayed in Tinos Town. On Andros we stayed in Andros Town.
On Tinos we walked up the highest peak Mount Tsiknias. The following day we walked from Falatados, up Exobourgo Peak and then on to Koumaros, Volax and finished at Kolymbithra. The next day was a break from walking for sightseeing, so we got the local bus to Pyrgos, famous for marble sculpting. Our final walk on Tinos took us to Ktikados, up and down trails to the sea at Kioni, from where we went back to town for the ferry to Andros.
On the island of Andros we transferred to the town of Andros on the other side of the island from the port of Gavrio. The next day was a full day’s walking from the town to the village of Korthi. On the following day we took a taxi to Panachrantos Monastery high in the hills and walked back down into Andros town. A few hours were left for sight-seeing before returning to the ferry port for the ferry back to Rafina on the outskirts of Athens.
