Photographer's Note
This photo was taken at the The Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
The Cultural Centre has quite beautiful architecture and its 'triangles' have been featured twice on TrekEarth in the last month, by both Pieter Janssen and Caffeine Lee.
As I passed the Centre on this particular Saturday, I was trying to think of another angle in which to photograph the 'triangles', when I saw these three young people.
So I decided to go for 'love's eternal triangle'.
My relative velocity shot shows the Centre in its surroundings.
Tech: Cropped to frame the triangle. Changed to grey scale. Resized. Sharpened. Brightness -3. Contrast +9. Added border.

Interesting square composition. With light and shade games and shapes (lines and rectangles). Well seen and cropped and good imagination for the plot :)

Hi Andrew;
Great "contrasty" shot with this B&W. Interesting choice in the "Love Triangle", we've all been there haven't we... haha
Nice job,

Great caption, Andrew, and a fine graphical composition with a good depth from the way your shooting angle shows the diagonals. The exposure is very well handled to render the play of light and shadow well, and the b&w conversion really appears as a logical choice. Very good.

très très chouette composition de tout point de vue; Les formes, la lumière, les dimensions,et l'usage (que j'apprécie tellement) du noir et blanc en font une pure merveille.

Excellent, Andrew, excellent! Like a scene from a movie and a very dramatic image. The leaning columns creating this triangular hallway - the light coming intermittent through the windows at the left side - the diagonals in the floor connecting the 'competitors' - and people shying up towards the wall. B&W is an excellent choice adding to the movie feel (a cold war spy exchange or a love triangle story) and the composition couldn't be better. To transform the Cultural Centre into this is drama is high class. Well spotted and very well done (a three pointer)!

Nicely done. The other shots have a much more abstract quality to them while yours makes them a very real and interactive space. Capturing the three people like this I think really does that as it engages the viewer into the story of the people as well as the abstract architecture. The contrast is excellent here and the lines of the triangles offer an impressive pattern back through this photo. And as I said it is a very engaging shot. There is a standoff here with these three and a tension added by your title for the point they will pass. Excellent job.

Superb tones for the b/w, Andrew. The diagonal lines add a lot of interest here, as do your leading lines. Very interesting and pleasing image.

Hello Andrew :)
An excellent depth rendered by all elements in that shot : diagonal of the pillars, lines formed by the pavements on the floor. And the best it that all these lines extends to form a triangle with the wall (good idea to have cropped the right side of the original shot). The couple included in the foreground, breaks finely the "monotony" of the repetitive shapes. Nice play of light and shadow between the pillars too. A very aesthetical modern style composition, Andrew. Well Done.

Great to watch this fine architecture - no wonder so many TE photographers likes to post this motif - You spotted a very fine drama - and one can only think how this ended - thanks Andrew for the fine work.

Very nicely done, the characters are located with regards to the diagonal dynamics of this image. All those lines make it very easy to read and on top of that your BW conversion is good.
Excellent title also. But I must admit your image was reminisceant at first hand of a scene taken from the movie "Elephant"... though noone got killed yet, I don't know why, perhaps the lighting and the tension...

Very strong graphism with simple lines forming repetitive details, Andrew! Your decision for B&W fits perfectly here and people are fine elements in the composition without being distracting with the colours of their clothes i.e. Excellent capture!

all your titles are interesting ,especialy this one:)
and the building is attractive too,in fact, according to the proper 'principles' of architecture designs, triangles should be avoided ,but here it became the charming element!
btw, after saw your another photo,i found there are no windows on the Cultural Centre buildings, then how keep the daylight?

What a great shot! I don't know how I miss it. The geometry emanates from this photograph. You frame this architecture very well and you exposed a nice perspective created by this corridor. The shapes and forms are well rendered and I like this idead to present this picture in black & white, that gives a surreal look.

All those lines ! What can I say? This is a perfect picture!
You've got the lines on the floor for the perspective drawing me to the back, the people in front and in the back giving reference for the distance. Then, the diagonals are creating arrows that bring me back to the begining where I started...
One word : GREAT!

Great architechure shot with graphic diagonal lines. The figures caught in just the right place on the left "thirds" . Ideal subject for B&W.

Although the architeture elements are obviously the main subject.. you used them to frame your composition and waited for people walk by to get the decisive moment. That makes the difference between amateur and expert: previewing your capture!
Added to perspective theme.

A great choice of B/W Andrew. The theme and the POV u chhose is great.. I just was going through ur gallery and wondering with so many beautiful compositions.. I tried a WS of this composition..just to give another shape of this composition.. I removed the top portion here.. i thought we can even imagine the connecting point of both the sides one is slant and another one is vertical.
PS. I finished my quota for uploading WS.i'll show u tomorrow.

j'apprécie le graphisme dans cette photo. Le format carré permet de faire ressortir ces lignes et de bien équilibrer l'ensemble; Beau travail.

Hello Andrew,
I believe that sometimes colors distract mind from main message of a photo. I really black and white tones of this shot. Well done!
