Photographer's Note
This photograph was taken in Hervey Bay, Queensland, the jump-off point to Frasier Island. My girlfriend and I were walking down the pier and we saw one of these small fish (I believe they are a type of puffer fish) in the water surrounding a pillar of the pier. We assumed that it had gotten trapped as the tide had receded, but as we continued down the dock, we began to notice that there were fish surrounding every pillar. Once the tide had fully receded, these small crabs emerged from the sand and traveled to the small pools of water. As they approached, the fish jumped from the pools and captured the crabs. It was a very interesting behavior.

Very cool. At first look I thought it were the other way around. The crabs about to all attack the fish, like ants attacking a bug. I like the position of the fish as if they are in a piceses position or watching each others back.
Oh yea, welcome to TE.
Take care,
Brian

Hi Matthew.
Welcome to TE.
Good first upload, too. I like the composition with diagonals and concentric ripples, although maybe it could be cropped a little more closely. Good quality sharp picture with interesting content. Nicely done.

Andrew

Hello Matthew,
Brilliant first shot. A very good reportage on the behavior of the fish.
