Photographer's Note

This pic was taken at the Asian night market in Richmond (southern Vancouver). Every Fri, Sat, and Sunday night this lot behind the Home Depot becomes a bustling market selling all sorts of cheap imported goods, and freshly cooked foods. This particular stall is selling Japanese seafood pancakes.

The place really reminds me of markets and street stalls in Asia with the crowds and the pushing, and all the cheap plastic trinkets and all the food, and of course: all the signs you can't understand! Also, the fact that there are about as many white faces here as in, say a street market in KL, it makes me a little nostalgic of my wandering days... (I hope that last sentence doesn't come off sounding bad, it's just strange to see.)

Post-pro: convert to b/w, some cropping, some burning (to darken background and hotspots in bandana and girls face--still a touch too bright IMO), small border.
