Photographer's Note

Tivoli Gardens is an amusement park in downtown Copenhagen, Denmark. Opened in 1843 it's one of the oldest amusements parks in the world - intact and still in use today.

Modeled after the Parisian Jardin de Tivoli and Vauxhall Gardens in London - and with 75% free space - is why Tivoli feels more like a public garden than a theme park.

And there's music everywhere. During the Summer season some 150 concerts, most of them free, are held in the Concert Hall and other bandstands around the park.

This is the stage of the Pantomime Theater, where the famous 'Peacock Curtain' has revealed a jazz ballet setting. And the drama is - as decreed - performed without words.

Music is an international language...
