Photographer's Note

The man in front's speech:
- Listen to me my friends our quiet and peacefull days are ending! Do you remember on our days what we used to do to spend our time? we worked.. when we weren't working at the fields we were working at home helping our fathers to fix some trouble on the house, and when we had some free time we would go to the church, like we still do all the sundays!
- Answers... (silence, he's the one who knows).
- You remember how we dated we our wifes on the old times in front of their houses with their father and mother always spying to check if we give a small kiss? do you remember how respectful it was? and now? now what?
- look all this foreigners, look how they dress, look what they do? look how they live!
- for instance, look at this guy taking a picture of me!! while his girlfriend is looking at the other side!!! how dare he?

This one was taken on a walk me and Teresa had in Machico, a city that used to be the capital of Madeira Island.
This is the church square where many old men like those on the photo hang around to relax and have some chat (internet free chat).
This conversation above is not real but I think it could suit to his and the others attitude.
