The temperatures were about -45c, the coldest day for 2002-2003. After about -30c, I don't think you can feel the difference in the cold, but the time it takes for ice to form inside your nose goes from about 2 seconds to half a second!

The next day, temperatures rose to -20c and I never saw the snow stick to the trees so thickly again.

This was my second Winter visit to this place where winter is almost always dark and the temperature rarely above freezing. This conditions would probably drive me to suicide if not for the huskies, auroras, sauna and good company.
