Photographer's Note

Arriving at the beach before coffee, the struggle for manual focusing continued. After a stormy night, with hail yet, the waves were blown out. Only the gulls were surfing. Between rides on the wind waves, they rested on the beach. Now a quandry, all these cool gulls riding the up-drafts off the waves and taking breaks on the beach, untroubled by the morning people. Should I stick to my plan and use manual focus or should I switch to Auto-focus Continuous and shoot gulls. I compromised, switching back and forth between modes.

When I reviewed the photos, there was a new conflict. All these not-quite-sharp gull pictures; should I post the best flying gull or should I one with s manual focus? My best critic likes a single gull but I don't really like to post pictures that require a lot of processing. My solution: I've posted one and put two runners-up in the workshop. Which is best?

PP: Sharpen in Nikon Editor: Intensity 45%, halo width: 34%, Reduce noise 60% in Neat Image.
