Photographer's Note

Predjamski castle (Predjamski grad) is an unbelievable piece of architecture, a fable-like structure built into a rock face 123 meters high. The "original" castle in the cave was mentioned at the beginning of 13th century, while the present structure was built in the 16th century. The dwellers/defenders of them always had an upper hand over any attackers, for the giant cave behind the castle offered many secret passages, making the castle virtually "invincible"...The legend has it that the legendary knight Erasmus (Erazem), owner of the "original" castle built deeper inside the cave, was killed by a "sniper" cannon shot, after his servant betrayed him, signalling the room Erasmus was in to the forces that have besieged the town. Visiting this castle and its adjacent cave together with the magnificent subterranean world of the Postojna cave (Postojnska jama), some 9 km away, is definitely a day worth having in one's life...
This picture was cropped, marginally additionally saturated, and then put through some heavy filtering (Neat Image) - I like it this way, it almost resembles a painting.
Besides, this beautiful place was already featured here on TE, so I thought of posting it in a different way...
