Photographer's Note

From all the south eastern asian countries I visited, I would say that Myanmar is perhaps where mysticism and religion is thickest, Luang Prabang in Laos which is one of a kind, excepted.

For who's interested in daily monastery life, this country is a blessing. I had asked Ye to find places where I could shoot monk classrooms : no problem, just name the kind, from basic to advanced Pali classes (Pali is the old hindi language in which buddhists texts are written, our western equivalent would be latin), male or female, age?

(Be prepared in the next weeks to be bored to death with monks and nuns photos. I apologize for that.)

On our way to U Bein bridge in Mandalay region we stopped in a nunnery that was buzzing from small to elder nuns studying for what would be on the next day their final buddhism exam. They were even too concentrated on their psalms they wouldn't care about me and my inquisitive camera.
