Photographer's Note
NEWSFLASH from the front of the Portuguese-Dutch windmill battle:
The Dutch windmills are marching on and are taking over the Portuguese countryside. Several windmills of the Portuguese and their allies have already been destroyed, as shown here and here. As a sign of victory, one of the Portuguese mills that was involved in the innocent windmill war from the second day, was equipped with Dutch blades.
In the meanwhile the British secret service found out about Dutch rocket mills that were already positioned on their launch pads. Probably the secret agents had been drinking to many Wodka Martinis (shaken, not stirred), because they failed to see that these rocket mills were not equipped with war heads made for destruction, but for improvement of the Portuguese scenery! Once the Dutch windmills have reached the Mediterranean Coast, these rockets will be launched and will release thousands of little Dutch windmills (as shown in the picture) over Portugal. They will happily grow on the Portuguese countryside, enabling the Portuguese people to fully enjoy the superior technology and sheer beauty of the Dutch windmills. And for sure, one day the Portuguese will be thankful to the Dutch, wear wooden shoes, eat raw herring, tolerate marihuana, listen to Frans Bauer and start screwing up on penalty shoot-outs in important football matches....
(Yike, now this is really starting to frighten me...)
For anybody who has missed the Portuguese-Dutch innocent windmill war, please have a look at the theme for more information and have fun!

LOL :-) Funny idea and great note. I also like the image, especially the red mill at the top which falls out of the row makes it great too.

I know that both Portugal and Holland are in EEC, but this it's too much. Close the borders right now, they are striking with toys ... they are trying to convert our poor children.
Now serious. Nice colourfull picture :)
Regards,
António
P.S. In the next days i will return to my flowers but ... i will be back ;)

This is the first time I enter in the war, as to be as a critic, since I am not in Portugal to take an active role. But...maybe I chose the wrong side to critic, since I should be in the Portuguese3 side???
Now seriously, although in the war, this photo breaks a bit the wave of wind mills that we have seen lately, showing the a repetitive pattern broken by the 5th on the top line, slightly tilted.

Comrade Michael, yesterday I rounded up thh garden mills today I was planning to call upon the minutures for posting. I am glad that we are thinking alike and strategically. Eevn thought eh littel red mill seems to be quivering in his boots they will make a fine light infantry.
Well seen, Michael.

What an offensive from the dutch. Although I wouldnt clasify these mills as heavy cavalry..more like light infantry and small infantry at that.
Great photo. Very nice colors and well composed with the rule of thirds in mind.

Yes Michael,in your note you draw a beautiful picture of Portugal´s
future,but maybe we can replace
Frans Bauer with Boudewijn de Groot?
A very fine picture with the texture
of all those colorful,little,dutch
windmills.Very well spotted and captured.
