A sadhu trying to make a few bucks by amusing the crowd at the 'Tarnetar Fair'.

The most famous fair in Gujarat is undoubtedly the Tarnetar Fair. The Tarnetar fair is visited by more than 50,000 people from all over the State, country and abroad.

The Tarnetar Fair is a "Lokmela" (people's fair)in its true sense. The principal attraction of this fair is the spontaneous folk music and folk dances of the Saurashtra region. There are many tattoo(chhundana) artists and barbers, magicians and madaris. Merry-go-round, circus, photography studios are some of the modern attractions. More than two hundred women perform Garba in a sing circule on the thrillng beats of four drums at a time and to the heart filling tunes of the jodiya pavas (the double flutes).

OUCH!!! this pic makes me batt my eyelids over and over again..good colours and what also interesting is a section of the mans hands with currency notes thus clearly stating that it is his form of perfroming art and he makes money for the same...good timing of the photo...keep it up!!!

You get marks for being able to hold the camera steady while looking at this scene. It is certainly an original image.

it's a good shot that turns my stomach, and for some reason, the hand at the bottom of the shot looks like it's ready to catch the eyeball if it falls out- that makes it even more freaky

What a find! I am always amazed at the things people will do to make money. I don't think it's the quality of the image that makes this pic, though it's certainly good. To me, it's the bizarre subject and the bright colors.

eeeeeek, very well shot and impressive pic, must be even more when you see it real ! I once saw a tv broadcast showing lots of guys inflicting hard treatment to different part of their bodies. One was doing the pretty same thing except that he was using a huge knife to pull out his eye, while grining at the camera.

Hi Ashit,

Good and very appropriate title here. This looks kind of freaky, and I can't imagine it's all that good for him. The thing that strikes me the most is the contrast between his two eyes; one is bulging out and insane; yet from the other you'd think he was bored, or just getting on with his day as usual.
