Photographer's Note

From Würzburg we motored down the old Romantische Strasse south...

THE ROMANTISCHE STRASSE is a well-travelled tourist route from Würzburg in northern Bavaria all the way down up to the Alps in the south. Along the way, often but certainly not always along lovely countryside roads, you'll find lots of romantic old towns and villages.

ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER is the main place along the Romantic Strasse. This well-preserved town, enclosed by robust rampants, is pretty touristy (even in corona times), but the abundance of old half-timbered houses is most photogenetic.

THIS PICTURE shows the top half of an old granery located near the edge of town, not far from the town walls and a major parking space.
