Photographer's Note

The swirling sandstone foreground leads to a hill that reminds me of the gangster Jabba the Hutt of Star Wars fame/infamy.

Situated in the heart of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, White Pocket is a fantasy land of rock formations, sand, and wind whipped shrubs and trees. It's located near Coyote Butte and so shares the same twisted sandstone formation.

For those of you thinking of traveling there, the first 9 miles of dirt road (from US 89A) are an easy ride in a passenger car. However, after the turn off from House Rock Road the next 9 miles require a high clearance 4x4 vehicle as there is deep sand (that polished the skid plate on my Jeep) and sections that can be deep mud after a rain.
