A Cruise and a Coke

On our way from Québec to Ottawa, we made a stopover in the city of Trois-Rivières, a city a little further down the Saint Lawrence River. This little lighthouse type of building we found on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River in the Parc Portuaire. It is the office for a river cruise firm.

Trois-Rivières (Three Rivers) is located at the confluence of the Saint Maurice River and the Saint Lawrence River. The former has three mouths at the Saint Lawrence River, created by some small islands, which gave the city its name. Trois-Rivières was founded in 1634 as the second settlement in New France, after Québec City. The city has a population of about 125,000 people nowadays.
