Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Please click here to see the larger Beta version.

As a follow-up to my previous photograph, which showed an old gentleman who had taken part in the Remembrance Sunday march, I wanted to post this shot, which shows the solidarity of the bikers.

There was a whole stream of bikers, showing the red poppy or carrying the English flag, touring the streets as a mark of respect to the people who perished in the two world wars.

When we saw them appear, we all rushed across the square to capture a memorable shot of this unusual occurrence. My photograph shows the tail-enders of the parade, supported by an army truck. I will show another earlier shot as a workshop.

When I researched the Remembrance Day Parade in Manchester, I found that a huge number of motor-bikers had joined together and circled the Manchester ring road. Every biker was dressed in red as a tribute to the symbolic poppy.

In the wake of the atrocities in Paris, it is humbling that people are prepared to join together and make such statements of respect.

Can I also add, that I watched the football match between England and France, last night, and was very moved by the emotions, the support for each other and to see 70,000 people joining in 'La Marseillaise' is something I will never forget.

My warm regards,
Bev :-)
