Laban Rata Resthouse
.. at night with Donkey Ears, Tunku Abdul Rahman's Peak and King Edward's Peak in a silhouette background.

Climbing Mount Kinabalu (4,095m or 13,435ft above sea level) can be completed within a day, however, most climbers will opt for the more leisure 2 days trip.

Whether climbing from the South Tourist Trail or the longer Mesilau Route, all climbers will stop for the night at Panar Laban area (3,270m or 10,730ft asl).

The biggest structure and central at this location is Laban Rata Resthouse. It has a restaurant, small shop, common restrooms/showers and can accommodate upto 70 climbers ie. private rooms (10 beds) and dormitories (60 beds).

The other structures at Panar Laban are Waras Hut, Panar Laban Hut, Gunting Lagadan Hut and Pendant Hut.
