Photographer's Note

"Om Mani Padme Hun" is a powerful mantra in Buddhist culture. This mantra is dedicated to the Bodhisattva of Compassion (Avalokiteswara).

This artwork was captured in Keylong area (Lahaul region in Northern India), on the way to Shashur Gompa, a Buddhist monastery (Drukpa lineage).

On the track that leads to the gompa from Keylong many mantras can be found : wooden ones, painted on stones, carved in the rocks. This one was my favorite because of the colors and the beautiful shadow playing with the signs.
