Photographer's Note

A replica of the famous "turtle ship" of the Korean Admiral Yi Sun-sin, an ironclad battleship used by the Korean navy in the Imjin Wars (1592-98). The dragon head at the prow blew out smoke to frighten the enemy.

Admiral Yi Sunsin (1545-98) is one of the greatest military heroes Korea produced. It is due to his achievements that the Japanese invasions of 1592-93 and 1597-98 finally failed.

The Namhae Bridge is a suspension bridge that connects Hadong Noryang and Namhae Noryang, South Korea.
Namhae-do is Korea's fifth-largest island.
Namhae Bridge spans Noryang Strait, connecting Namhae Island with the mainland.
The bridge, completed in 1973 has a total length of 660 meters. The bridge has a real-time monitoring system installed to monitor its performance.
