Photographer's Note

Saint-Cirq Lapopie, the Lot has one of the most beautiful villages in France.

André Breton, surrealist spirit, was a fan:
"It was after the car ride which devoted, in June 1950, the opening of the first world road - the only road of hope - that Saint-Cirq ablazed with fireworks appeared to me - as a impossible rose in the night. it should be love at first sight if I think that the next morning I returned, the temptation to come and stay in the heart of this flower: wonder, it had ceased to flame, but remained intact. Beyond many other sites - Americas, Europe - Saint-Cirq has placed on me the only enchantment: the one which fixes forever. I stopped wanting to be elsewhere. I think the secret of his poetry has things in common with some Rimbaud's Illuminations, it is the product of the rarest balance in perfect gradient of plans. The listing of other resources is very far from exhausting the secret .... Every day, waking up, it seems to me open the window on the Very Rich Hours, not only of art but of Nature and Life."
