Photographer's Note

A few days ago looking at Conil a beautiful sunset I met again with the monument to Jabegero and lazy play with, this is the best result I could get. In the past month septimbre got a photo of this monument by taking opposite but at daylight.

Seine is an art of purse and shot (collected from the beach), widely used in the past on European shores until its ban. It is also called the Catalan Xabec (used in Menorca). Named after the network used the same name and comes from the Arabic word Sabak, which means precisely network.

Also known by name to the rowing boat used on the coast of Malaga province and neighboring countries, needed to haul the net, but really should be called seine boat. Similar boats are sciabeco sambuq Italian or the Red Sea. During the nineteenth century was widely used for sardine fishing in the Gulf of Cadiz.

The Seine is between 7 and 14 meters in length (total length) and about 2.5 meters wide (maximum width), reaching up to 15 rowers manned by more than one pattern or helmsman, but currently there are only 7 seine boats rowing dedicated to recreational use and racing. From the boat calaba (have) the network is then collected from the coast.

Seine (net)
