Photographer's Note

This is a passerine bird of the wagtail family (maderaspatensis). The species name is derived from the Indian city of Madras (now Chennai). It is white-browed. Its diet consists of insects, and so is found in open, freshwater wetland habitats. The female usually lays 3 to 5 eggs in a cupshaped nest.

It was a frequent visitor outside my lodging at the head of the Sagar Talao.
