The Little White House entered the history of Chicoutimi, in Saguenay... And the history of Quebec, of course.
In July 1996, the rivers of the Saguenay-Lac St. Jean overflowed and millions of litres of water inundated the city, many houses were destroyed and there were massive landslides.

This little white house, famous today, violently struck by large volumes of water, resisted bravely (see video HERE).

After this event, it has been transformed in a museum and is considered a symbol of courage and determination of people from Chicoutimi.

Correction:
As correctly mentioned by Pierre (pierrefonds), the name of the city is now Saguenay - in 2002 there was a fusion of seven municipalities, including Chicoutimi, to form the city of Saguenay. Chicoutimi is a district of Saguenay, even if we continue to say Chicoutimi, especially for events before the decree.
