Photographer's Note

Halfway between the northern border of Chile and Santiago, this little visited National Park covers 43 000 hectares along the Pacific. On the hills, humidity of camanchaca gives rise to a unique collection of over 20 species of cacti and succulents.

After more than 500km traveled from the northern border, it is surprising that there is only the cacti that grow outside the oases surrounding rivers.
