Photographer's Note

Hi Everybody,

This image is an extension to the daily life of the workers near the stream in Siliguri(West Bengal in India) which I have been posting for the last few days.

As I mentioned already these people collect boulders out of the bed of the stream. They get a minimal labor charge for doing it for the whole day. I was first a bit confused as there are many boulders and rocks on the bank itself. And then I asked this limping old man (Luckily His one leg was very muscular). The boulders in the bed are of perfect shape not very huge or small. But I also found an other reason, the rocks and boulders near the bank have already been carried away or exploited. What shocked more was the amout of money they get out of working the whole day. I don't want to mention it but it was very less, less than what we can even imagine to feed one family properly.

I hope you will appreciate the efforts tried.
