Photographer's Note
I got very surprised..
Because I saw lots of elephants were walking on the street when I went out of a souvenior shop. I got excited at this sudden & curious parade, so I tried shooting a photo right away, but someone yelled at me loud, "Hey, Miss! Move back!!"
I was in an Elephant Orphanage at that time.
I mean, I surely understood that lots of elephants were there... but! I had no idea about such a sudden parade.. Of course, there was an announce & attention before that, and unfortunately I missed it.
By the way, they went for the river slowly. They enjoying bathing a lot!!

Hi Noriko, this is a very interesting shot. I'm not surprised that someone told you to move back - the elephants look like they are about to trample you! Well captured.

It must have been something. Did the ground shake?
I am ready to bet we will never see a more elephant crowded shot on TE!
Thanks, I think it could have used a bit of burnishing at PS time, for the over-exposed spots, and may a a bit more cropping on the right.
Too bad, the little guy did not come out a bit more, but excellent sharpness. Thanks

Quite a sight this must have been. Good job you got your shot in before moving out of the way. Good compo, maybe a bit of OE in the distance, but not important, and tricky lighting there.

:)
Great place, the elephant orphanage at Pinnawella ...
Good photo . A pity you can't take a tighter
composition, but with 40 elephants it would be
extremely difficult to do ...
