2/18 Salaryman

The word salaryman, coined in Japan, refers to all white-collar company employees, usually those engaged in desk work in private companies. These are the men who have brought about Japan’s stunning economic growth. Most of a worker’s salary goes to pay the monthly instalments on his house mortgage and car loan, plus education expenses for the children.

I made a picture of this salaryman while he was waiting for the underground’s train to his office. I wanted to point out the speed of the train arriving to the platform by choosing 1/15 and holding on tight my camera to capture enough sharply the subject. I took 3 or 4 pictures and this was the best one.
