Photographer's Note
that's right, spaniards spent centuries looking for eldorado in vain but we found it here, on the slopes of andes. fields of 18 karat gold rolling to the horizon with just a bunch of volcanoes protecting the treasure...
--
location note: 40 kilometers south of socaire village traveling along the road # 23 (as shown by Jorge Muller). but why am i disclosing the location of eldorado!?? silly me...

Hi Kristaps
Clear as anything, sublime rich saturations and hues here, and the volcanoes are stunning.
The graduated sky is perfect, I feel that clouds would have hindered this view. Excellent

very nice, the minimalistic blue sky works well to leave all of the attention for the golden foreground. I like the tony clouds on top of the volcanoes, and how the different layers of the hill, the laguna and the mountains create a great sense of dept.
best,
Kristine

Hi Kristaps,
I will be following with similar shots this season, but yours have a great "golden" look due to the early hour light. I love that. I will keep seeing you around

Hi Kristaps,
Wonderful high altitude shot of these golden slopes that are so wonderfully flattered by the vivid blue skies and even bluer mountain lake.
Love the clouds gathering atop the smoothly textured peaks.

Hi Kristaps,
Too late, booked my flight ;-)
I think I have been there during my Chile trip but it was a while ago and the names are vanishing... I remember I saw the Chungara and another one. In anycase I like the colmpo and result a lot, this warm foreground is superb.
Have a nice day JY

Hello Kristaps,
Altiplano (in Chile or Bolivia) is such an unreal place in the world !
Your picture is very good, well composed, and with beautiful colors.
Maybe I will have try a panoramic format, with less sky : I will do a workshop, tell me if you like it.

Hello Kristaps!!! Next time you are there you will find 20 "earthers" with their tripods :))) Change your text ... road no. 42, next right and all the way up ... LOL! What can I say, it is simply wonderful, full of harmony, a total beauty. The distant volcanoes, the blue of the lake, the strong yellow on the sides and lots and lots of thin air. Wow! This is your master piece, was it the air, was it your wonderful woman ... all together? Have a great weekend ... Barbara.

Bonjour Kristaps,
j'aime beaucoup la désolation de cette série, cette série de montagnes est impressionnante, bien répartis sur la photo et semblant de même hauteur. Les couleurs dont celle du ciel sont superbes.

Hi Kristaps,
Wow!! a green star from Henk!! Anything I could say about the golden sweep of the hillside down to the turquoise lake and the wonderful sharpness of the four volcanos with their little cloud hats, pales beside THAT honor
...and then I read Jorge's note about the need for coco tea to tolerate the altitude!! I remember trying ski Mauna Kea (4200 m)- I lasted about 15 minutes before going to sleep. I could never have framed something like this. Of course, I hadn't even thought to take a camera along

VIVA la Polarizacion! Did you do the same shot without the glass? it would definitively give you the ultimate lesson and after that you NEVER EVER would leave it at home again.
Yeap, the slim Nikon is very elegant. Do you know anyone that uses the Heliopan? I was looking recently into it and I am very tempted to go for one. It is almost 1/3 more then the Nikon.
Man, this shot is GOOD!

Hello Kristaps
I can only say one thing...AWESOME! Is it true that the legend of the gold originated from the tufts of grass hit by the golden light? The blue of the lake water creates a fine contrast as well, with the 'bunch' of volcanoes in the BG.

Angshu
