Photographer's Note

It was an early morning and boat driver was leaving for next customers where they were waiting for him at New Amsterdam. Suriname River’s great muddy color, shining morning sun, really different sky here in Suriname gave this gold color. I photographed the scene at Leonsberg's small catwalk.

Leonsberg : Located at northern part of Paramaribo. Closer to the Atlantic Ocean and at the beginning of beautiful Suriname River’s big mouth.

Leonsberg is a Dutch name. “Berg” means “hill” in English. It means the part of this area is “Leon’s Hill” May be there was a lot of “Dutch Leon” who were protecting the Paramaribo (capital city of Suriname) during colonization period ;)
