Photographer's Note

I have been absent from TE for some time, and I don't think I will ever get back to being as active as before, but I'm planning to post a photo and write some critiques from time to time.

this is becoming my favourite photo from the our recent trip to Peru. I never thought it would come out any good, we had just started our 4 day hike in the Lares Valley, right outside the village of Quishuarani, when we met these two women on their way back to the village. the old lady was resting on the stone wall, and did not object when I asked if I could take a photo of her, I liked the contrast between her colourful clothes against the stark beauty of the Andean landscape.

no pp on this photo, just minor adjustment of curves to lighten the figures of the women, resizing and sharpening.

RAW, ISO 100, spot metering.
