Machu Picchu, a photo from Cusco, South

Photographer's Note

This picture is a tribute to the election of Machu Picchu as one of the 7 New Wonders of the World, and probably the most voted by foreigners. A combination of nature and history, surrounded by mistery, makes the city one of the biggest touristic destinations of the world. Congratulations, Machu Picchu, for the election and for the excellent state of conservation in which it can be found. I also protest against the University of Yale for not keeping what had been promised: the devolution of the pieces found in the region to the country to which they belong.

In the workshop I've tried to emphasize an indian face formed by the outline of the mountains.

Incrívl como são pontiagudas essas montanhas, não? Essa é uma vista clássica que você fotografou de forma muito adequada, com perfeitos ajustes. Belo trabalho.

One of the places I want to visit one day ... just looking at your photo, it is not surprising that it is one of the 7 wonders. I have a look at your WS ... well seen ... it does look like an indian face. Beautifully captured and composed with good depth and image quality. Well done! tfs

Unfortunatlly the Acroppolis of Athens wasn't one of the 7 modern wonders.

Good pov shoot from above to show the ancient address, beautiful color create by the soft sunlight at this highland, mysterious feel with the hazy view at background mountain chains, perfect shoot.

Wonderful capture of this this famous village. Wonderful details to the old buildings that housed the ancient civilization. Excellent colors and sharpness show through this hazy blue sky.

Hi Alexandre,

I have to say that compared to the lama-point-of-view, I prefer this one! The exposure on the sky is clearly better and the workshop is very interesting. Never knew that, or see someone coming up with the idea to rotate the shot! Nice one.

Hello Alexandre! That workshop is a good catch on your part. I never tire of this great view, looks like you got there early to get this one since there are so few people in your shot. Nice work managing the light and haze.

Bela foto clássica dessa grande maravilha. Infelizmente ainda não fui lá, tenho que melhorar meu condicionamento físico para andar tanto. Mas, pelo visto, a caminhada vale à pena. Aquelas lhamas na boca do índio ficam sempre por alí? Ah, a dimensão e a profundidade da foto ficaram ótimas. Parabéns. E nota zero para a Universidade de Yale.
