He looks like he really needed that meal, I hope it became him well. The hard shadows and the light reflecting into his face is quite good. The background add to the feeling of poverty that is in the photo.
I would like a little more comprehensive note.

technically your photo is great, cerdo. the harsh light of the south added an extra drama to the shot.
It´s rather disturbing, though, to see such a 'beautiful' pic depicting such a painful subject. but i believe it was your aim, isn´t it? you gave me a lot to think about...
