I took this picture in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Medellin, the graffiti caught my attention because of its social claim, it made reference to violence, the situation of displaced and killed people...A good wall to meditate.

esta foto la tomé en uno de los barrios más pobres de Medellín, me llamó la atención las pintadas de reivindicación social que había, hacían referencia a la violencia, a la situación de los desplazados...a las personas asesinadas... Un buen mural para meditar.

Hello Sergio,
The graffiti is special because of its social message. It's also very colourful and good for a photograph. The little boy adds another aspect of human touch, also his colours match the graffiti quite well. It's an advantage that he is looking at the camera, thereby connecting us to himself and the message.

Hello Sergio,

The English word 'liberty' comes from the Romance languages (Spanish French Italian) & the chains reinforce the visual effect. Not sure what 'naci' means. I'll look it up later. Good street art here with a poignant message. I bet this area is super dangerous after dark. Tfs!

I understand why this graffiti caught your attention, because it is so powerful, with the woman tight with chains, the cross...but it was also a great timing and contrast with the kid who looks happy & full of life!

sin duda el contraste entre este duro grafiti sobre la realidad de la vida en Medellín, y la mirada de este niño que pasaba por delante, forman una imagen fuerte y vital, que captaste en un buen encuadre.
Es una foto con un marcado estilo foto-periodístico, que has realizado con gran solvencia.
Bien vista, y muy bien hecha, desde luego, es una composición que nos hace meditar.

Hello Sergio !

It works and it works very well. The well-compressed image does its wonders. The only fully three-dimensional part of the image is the boy passing in front of all the graffities. The rest of the image has been rendered very effectively two-dimensional. The result is very intriguing, the boy looks as though he has wandered into a world of graffiti by accident and now he is no longer in the world, which is shared with us. The strong, black framing around the image firmly hold the entire image intact. And the presence of all the colours brings the boy into the another world of two dimensions. Compression is the key word in this particular image. This is a very good example of how you perceive this world, Very nice!!

Hello Sergio,

This is an interesting photograph, so it's impressive to see the painting on wall describing a strong message. It is considered to be a slogan which banishes a crime and violence from a town. It's also impressive in colorful visual effect using illustration and characters. And, a boy in sidewalk draws out additional good effect in this image.

nice registration of this Medellin area. I like the references as you said in the graffiti. The boy there seems oppressed by all this violence.
