Photographer's Note
Update: "Larger Version" now available here.
This image was stitched using Photoshop Elements 2.0 from 4 x 5-megapixel pictures. They were taken hand-held from a moving motor launch as quickly as the shutter would allow, using the "overlap by a third" rule. As per my suggestions to Norbert for his pano, I tried to disguise the merge lines by adjusting the individual images first and then using the stamp and clone tools to work on the visible join lines. Unfortunately they are still evident. But the expanse of the glacier and the stillness of the lake cried out for a panorama - so I hope you can forgive this!
Any advice or workshop suggestions for dissolving the join lines would be most welcome.

I'd have to look very hard to find the stitching lines you're referring to, Bruce. I think this is exceptional, particularly as you mention having taken the individual shots from a moving launch. The reflection is beautiful; on the thumbnail this almost looked like a computer-generated fractal image. I'm happy to see it's a nature-generated view, very well captured.

WOW ! Breathtaking shot !
Well, wouldn't have you told us about the joint line on the panorama that I wouldn't have seen them. In fact, I saw them only after reading your note but only on the thumbnail. On the LP itself, it's almost impossible so you made a great job !
The shot is classic technically but 100% perfect for this kind of landscape. This place with reflection is wonderful !

I, too, have difficulties identifying the merge lines, so your job hasn't been as bad as you seem to think. Beautiful photo with douce, calm colours.

That landscape is wonderful and even if the pitures were taken hand-held from a moving motor boat, the result is amazing and the horizon is not tilt. Colours are also very good. Well done, Bruce!

WOW.. I agree with Norbert, your PS work is great, no real lines visible. Crystal clear sharp photo of the most beautiful surroundings.

Just wanted to add my compliments - breathtaking photo, Bruce. I notice you used a polarizer, which makes the stitching job even more impressive. Well done.

Awesome panorama! I am interested in learning to take these types of shots. I love the symmetrical reflection in this shot. Keep em' coming.

Excellent panorama. The water a bit blurred breaks nicely the symmetry and attracts the eye on the background. Well done.

I just played the "spot the merge lines" game here, and only found slight traces of darkness. If you didn't say anything, it would barely be noticable. Very nice Photo!

Dear Bruce,
The impact of the picture is so big that really unless you look at it with a loupe you won't see merging lines. It's a great image, and gives me the desire to visit S America.
