Photographer's Note

Puerto Chacabuco, Chile

Seen here are typical homes in the very small and very southern port of Puerto Chacabuco, a Chilean town and port located in the far south Aysén Region. It has a population of approximately 1600 inhabitants. The economy is mainly based on port activity, such as fishing, marine plants, salmon farming, and increased tourist activity like those found through ecotourism and sport fishing. South of here one could go around the horn of South America, to Antarctica or head east to the Andes, Patagonia and Argentina. This is simply a small modest village and it would be interesting to see and experience their daily life here.
