"The Cathedral of Brasília (Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida) in the capital of the Federative Republic of Brazil, is an expression of the architect Oscar Niemeyer. This concrete-framed hyperboloid structure, seems with its glass roof to be reaching up, open, to heaven. On 31 May 1970, the Cathedral’s structure was finished, and only the 70 m diameter of the circular area were visible. Niemeyer's project of Cathedral of Brasília is based in the hyperboloid of revolution which sections are asymmetric. The hyperboloid structure itself is a result of 16 identical assembled concrete columns. These columns, having hyperbolic section and weighing 90 t, represent two hands moving upwards to heaven. The Cathedral was dedicated on 31 May 1970. The architecture arguably builds upon the design of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.".

Looks like a modern art structure rather than a cathedral...
It has all the magnificence of a cathedral and attraction of an artwork.

Olá Bruno,
essa catedral já é famosa, no mundo todo e aqui no TE também, mas sempre é bom reve-la, principalmente numa foto boa como essa, com ótima qualidade. Espero ainda esse ano conhecer Brasília.

Bonjour Bruno,
I am a big admirer of Oscar Niemeyer, as architect naturally but also as man!
I like your centring which emphasizes the flight of the cathedral. The sky with these clouds completes very well the composition and I like discovering these very beautiful stained glasses since the outside.
A very beautiful photo, I am happy of your arrival on TE!

Imagem bem composta, com excelente controle de luzes e sombras, bem emoldurada por um céu de um belo azul. O POV de vista aplicado ressalta a grande cruz da coroa da Catedral, que em geral, muitas vezes esquecemos de enfatizá-la. Bonita mostra. Abraço, Consuelo
