Photographer's Note

Continuing the series "araucaria angustifolia" or "Pinheiro do Paraná" (Paraná's Pine), I would like to show you its "pinhas" (cones).

"Pinhas" are ball shapped.
When the "pinhas" are mature, with its "pinhões" reaching its largest size, these "pinhões" begin to fall from the "pinha" that, however, stays in its own place in the extreme tip of the branches. This process will take some days, depending of winds, birds, or just its maturity. It´s time to pick up some "pinhões" on the ground or, sometimes, to tear some "pinhas" from the araucarias. It's the case of this two I´d posted here.
Hope you like it!
Regards from southern Brazil, the land of araucaria angustifolia!
