Photographer's Note

Well, after some shots of São Paulo I'll continue to post pictures taken in Campos do Jordão. I wrote some notes about this mountain city here.

This is the view from our hotel room's balcony. Nice isn't it? This tree is called "araucária" in portuguese and I don't know its english name to translate. It's found in colder areas of Brazil, mainly in the three south states, but also in these higher places of São Paulo state.

As I couldn't frame all the tree from the balcony, even in the wider zoom position as used here, I decided to crop the right part of it (and some buildings also) and let the tree off centered.

The use of a polarizer with lower exposure seems to work well here. Thanks again, Sávio, for the tip. But of course a blue sky with no clouds helps a lot.
