Photographer's Note

Ten miles (16 km) north of the city center is SANTO ANTÔNIO DE LISBOA, one of the oldest villages on the Island of Santa Catarina.
This quaint little settlement, which enjoys official protected status because of its outstanding cultural importance, is a treasure-trove, preserving the traditions of a fishing village community amongst centuries-old buildings and a cobbled main street built from rough-hewn stone in the days of slavery.

Saint Anthony Church - This Church was constructed between 1750 and 1756, in front of the sea. It has a simple façade and a rich interior in artistic elements.
