Series on my trip to ILHA BELA (BEAUTIFUL ISLAND) - Northern Coast of the State of SÃO PAULO - SOUTHEASTERN Region of BRAZIL - From June 30th to July 1st, 2012 - # 004 !

Last week-end I went for the third time to ILHA BELA, the largest island in the coast of the State of SÃO PAULO and one of the largest in the whole brazilian coast (First time in 2005, second time in 2008)! It's located in the northern coast of the State. Its western coast has a village and lots of urban and not-so-urban beaches! As one drives to the north or to the south, one reaches less urbanized beaches and spots. Its interior is a State Park (PARQUE ESTADUAL DA ILHA BELA/BEAUTIFUL ISLAND STATE PARK) with excellently preserved original forest! There are peaks of more than 1,000 m.a.s.l. with creeks and waterfalls! Its eastern coast is almost empty, much more natural and well preserved! One reaches that side by the use of Four Wheel Drive Vehicles or Boats of all kinds! The beach in this picture is the last one one can reach with a normal car as one heads towards the north of the island and still is pretty much preserved!
